HD2 seen as Blackberry 7290 on at&t
Ok, so I found a couple of threads regarding this in other forums, but didn't find any solutions.
I have an unlocked tmo HD2 and it's showing as Blackberry 7290. I wanted to keep my $10 family data plan (as I have done so with a g1 and a usc tp2), but instead I get a blackberry data plan. I get around this by switching to a regular phone from time to time, but this is too annoying. Does anyone else have this problem?

It's because the IMEI is not in the ATT database. I see people everyday using unlocked phones at t-mo everyday and most of them do not show the correct device information. You can try calling ATT care and have them update the IMEI on your account but it may not change anything.

the thing is, two other unlocked htc phones show up as "generic" phones
it's only the hd2. my guess is that blackberry has similar imei
|
