Re: HD2 Email, Text Entry, & FM Radio Questions...
I know the windows default messaging client can be enabled but haven't tried to change the email client. I am using a 6.5.x rom and it has the regular email client and I thought the stock rom had the traditional email as well, only texting was changed.
The letter recognizer option for text input I do not believe is available on the HD2 but you do have the traditional full qwerty and swype, both are very responsive and very accurate once you get used to the capacitive screen. FM radio is available on the HD2 just like the TP2. I believe it is in the multimedia folder in the start menu but could be mistaken. Still requires a corded headset to be plugged in for it to function. |

1. On mine when I hit the inbox button in sense it takes me to the normal WM inbox. So I guess... yes?
2. These can be enabled via registry edits. 3. Yes it does.

Re: HD2 Email, Text Entry, & FM Radio Questions...
i feel the same way you do about wp7, and decided to get me a wm6.5 device to hold me over for a year or two until other mobile OS options becomes more viable to my needs. So, i went with the hd2...havent looked back since. I think an android port is inevitable. and we've already seen examples of wp7 running on the hd2...not that id wanna run that garbage on my device, but i think that if anything wil be able to dual or even triple boot an OS, its going to be an hd2! Heres to hoping anyway...

Re: HD2 Email, Text Entry, & FM Radio Questions...
WP7 is of the devil. I'm convinced, because how else could it be so terribly, horribly, unbelievably craptastic? I decided to switch carriers & get the HD2 because this will likely be the last device running REAL WinMo. I can see myself using this phone & being quite happy with it for many years to come, and thanks to communities like this, WM will continue to be supported & developed. They'll have to yank it out of my cold, dead hands before I'll downgrade to Android or that made-over Instinct OS they call WP7.
Since I was on Sprint before, I was actually planning on get an EVO when they came out, figureing I could just adapt myself to Android. No freaking way now. Not after I actually TRIED Android. I got myself a Hero to test it out, and within 36 hours I was bored with it & switched back to my TP2. Not gonna say Android's a *bad* OS per se, just very... simple. Too damn simple for me, in fact, and quite boring. I like little easter eggs and hidden goodies that I get to discover. Android is too up-front. WinMo is like Christimas morning & an egg hunt rolled into one. |
