yup i went the same route and not under contract either, i felt it was the best way and if you actually figure it out it is cheaper over 2 years to go without a contract since the discount for the phone isnt as large as the difference betweeen the contracts. also i could sell the hd2 that i bought for 440 straight out for a good chunk of cash as the phone (tp2) before with verizon... also cant beat the freedom on no contract of course as well!

The comcast guys are usually pretty friendly, I asked one of them in Boston what he was working on and he told me they were running wire for a T-Mobile cell antenna that was on one of the buildings in Boston (we were right near the Hanc0ck Tower and that has a huge antenna on it). He didn't tell me which building the tower was on...I think he thought I was a terrorist or something lol.

PS - ...the profanity filter...really?...I can't type the word Hanc0ck? See.... Han**** .... It's the name of the building lol.

I ****ed my gun back and then shot the **** and feathers went everywhere. It was a mess.

Yep. Not to mention I've paid a quite a few ETFs lately No way I'm keeping the same phone for TWO years, that's just ridiculous.. The carrier model needs some serious reform in this country imo.

Re: US T-Mobile HD2 HSPA+ ???

I never thought I could keep any phone for 2 years either, until I got my hd2 lol... I can see myself using this for that long, EASILY, unless they come out with a phone that runs full windows or something...

That said, I do think they need to go to 1 year or even 18 month upgrades, cause most people don't keep a phone for 2 yrs. Unless you're someone like my dad, who has had the same phone since 2006...

Well I JUST spoke with the t-mobile rep who broke the news about the HD2 to me and he said that none of the current devices will work on 4g, but the 4g network should be up by the end of the summer. The 4G network being up means that as a t-mobile customer, you can roam on AT&T's towers, but only once the new network is up and running (which helps t-mobile out A LOT). T-Mobile has contracts with Comcast all over the country to install signal boosters and necessary wiring throughout major cities, for the t-mobile 4g debut. So I'm not joking, if you're in a major city and you see a Comcast truck working on electrical stuff, it's probably for t-mobile.
T-Mobile's HSPA+ is not 4G. Although it will have theoretical 21 MB speed it is still based on a 3G technology and is not officially 4G. That said, T-Mobile's 3G phones do not have the 850/1900 3G bands only the 1700/2100 band that they actually use for 3G, meaning they could never roam on ATT's 3G (HSPA) or 4G (LTE) networks. T-Mobile phones can roam on ATT to make calls and use the 2G EDGE network as all T-Mobile phone have at least the 850/1900 GSM bands. The latest 3G phones, MyTouch and later, have a 7.2 MB top speed so with the HSPA+ upgrade they will blazing at near top speed. The only HSPA+ device (Rocket web stick) in use right now is seeing about 6 MB actual usage speed.
