yup i went the same route and not under contract either, i felt it was the best way and if you actually figure it out it is cheaper over 2 years to go without a contract since the discount for the phone isnt as large as the difference betweeen the contracts. also i could sell the hd2 that i bought for 440 straight out for a good chunk of cash as the phone (tp2) before with verizon... also cant beat the freedom on no contract of course as well!

No way I'm keeping the same phone for TWO years, that's just ridiculous.. The carrier model needs some serious reform in this country imo.
