Messed up speaker.

So I went to the beach this weekend and my phone got some sand on/in it. Only problem I'm having is that the speaker, well the one next to the front camara, the one you put next to your ear when on a phone call, sounds horrible. I'm guessing it got sand in it.

Question is, will Sprint replace this for free? I pay for the insurance every month.

If so, so I can unroot it and take it in. Thanks.

Re: Messed up speaker.

Yeah, sand will do that to electronics. Fortunatley for you though is that you have insurance so they will either fix it or replace it. Usually though, insurance is for lost, stolen, or extremely damaged phones that can't be fixed so they might tell you different. So get to unrootin'. Or you can take a can of compressed air to it. Just pop off the back cover and spray the heck out of the whole phone.

Note:

Don't tell sprint you went to the beach and got sand in it. Just tell them it just started sounding like crap.

Hey Mystery! Good to see you. Actually had an internal speaker issue as well. They fixed it no problem. I have insurance as well. Hope all is well. Btw, I unrooted as well just in case before the repair but it was simple with unrevoked.

Yeah, wasn't planning on telling them and since I'm paying for the insurance I'll rather have them do it.

Yeah been lurking lately, just haven't had time to get into making ROMs anymore so I just flash them now. I see you're still around helping out though.

First time I went to the Sprint store their computers were down so I had to go back a couple days after, left it there for an hour and it was fix. I was just worried about them doing the Gingerbread update, but thankfully they only did the 3.70 one. Rooting back the phone was so easy now. I remember the first method to root, was not so user friendly.

That's cool. Good to have you around for sure. Now we need to get you cooking for Android lol! I'm sticking with the Evo and real happy with the community and multitude of custom roms available.

Haha I'll have to say no on that one. Don't have the time anymore, plus I'm really happy with Myn's work, which was the reason I didn't start. Currently running his Synergy RC1 which is great.
