FWIW and I hope if I have just been extremely lucky this doesn't jinx me, but I have dropped mine 3 times since I bought it in September; once from the hip onto concrete and twice from counter height on to tile floors. So far no chips, cracks or scratches on the glass. My bezel got chewed up when I dropped it on the concrete, but that's it. After hearing some of these horror stories, I hope mine doesn't ever have to be replaced.

took it off the huge ballistic case , lol , i bought at best buy which supposedly has 3 layers of protection at a ridiculous price ,acidently placed in my pocket along with my keys , the glass apparently received slight scratch marks. you really have to look at it when using the cloth wipe to see the scratches though.

I called HTC tech support to ask a question, and while he was looking up my account, I asked if the glass on the EVO was gorilla glass and he said "nope"

Hey Thundaar. Shows up on the Corning site?

CORNING® GORILLA® GLASS | HTC. Either way the glass is good. Haven't had one on the wife's old EVO for 6 mos and still looks day 1 fresh.

Most new htc phones come with gorilla glass. At least the big ones like evo and evo 3d. I think by next year all their phones will come with it. So far my evo 3d has been without a screen protector since I got it and it's still scratchless and flawless.

It says "available" on these devices, doesn't mean they come with it necessarily. Could mean you can buy a gg screen for it.

Agreed; however, it could have been released without it then added at a later date but "available" Doesn't seem like an option like when buying a new car or windows for example, when one can choose options. I don't remember buying the EVO or EVO3D and Sprint asking if I want to opt for Gorilla Glass as an upgrade.

I've had my phone for about 18 months now. I still don't have any scratches on the screen. I have dropped it from my hip countless times onto concrete, asphalt, tile, carpet and any other surface you can think of. The corner of the plastic housing on the back has lost a piece to it but still no damage to the screen. I can take a clean cloth and wipe the screen off and it looks brand new every time.

With everything there are always weak points that you can hit and cause glass to shatter. I would think that that may be the case for some folks that have had their screens break.

My wife have the EVO SHIFT.....It may be Gorilla Glass, but just remember what Diamonds do to glass....Diamond Earrings + Glass Screen = Scratches.
