Re: Help!!

I'm sure there is a way to do it with a mac, I just dont know how. If you're not able to find a method you may want to consider going to a local computer repair shop. There is a place down the street from my house that charges $45 to root a android phone and $50 to jailbreak iphones. I'm sure that you can find a place not too far that will un-root your evo and return it to stock. (its cheaper than bricking your phone and paying $100 to asurian for a refurbished one.

also, I did a quick google search for you and found this The only way to UNroot an EVO on MAC. - xda-developers

Hope this helps.

Re: Help!!

having your phone rooted but running a stock ROM is really no difference than being unroot w/ stock ROM....

Here is the latest stock ROM, depending you on root method, it may unroot you caz it should write a new hboot....

Re: Help!!

If you have mac, hopefully it is an intel based mac... If it is, it should be easy to accomplish this task.

First of all, on your mac you should locate and download the S-ON tool from unrevoked, copy it to the mSD card on your EVO, and install the ZIP from your custom recovery... (It is important to turn S-ON before the remaining steps, if you desire it to be back on. If you need and explanation as to why, we can go over that later!)

With that out of the way, you can follow these steps. Most are easy, but they may or may not be for you. If you need any additional guidance on any of the steps, please let me know.

1. If you don't know what kind of mac it is, go to your APPLE MENU in the top left hand corner and choose, ABOUT THIS MAC. If it says INTEL, you can continue the following steps.

2. Go to Virtualization & Automation Solutions for Desktops, Servers, Hosting, SaaS - Download and install the free trial.

3. After installing the program, you will need to create a new VIRTUAL MACHINE, for this you will need a windows install disk. It should not matter much which one you use, but I recommend Windows XP, as there will less chances of complications.

4. After you get Windows installed and running in the virtual machine, open Internet Explorer and download an RUU from Shipped ROMs. You can run it from your VIRTUAL MACHINE, and it will return your phone back to stock.
