Can I use the Camera during a call on the Evo?

I agree the Epic has great hardware, but the software can't compete yet. I couldn't care less about a benchmark as long as the phone makes my life easier. I had the Evo for a while, but took it back as I wasn't ready to deal with Android and having no keyboard.

Unfortunately, the battery died way quicker, Samsung widgets aren't great, and there is no way to set a time out for my enterprise mandated lockscreen, although every other smartphone I have ever used can do that. And I barely ever use the hard keyboard. Go figure.

I just picked up a White Evo on Ebay.

Anyone want to buy a gently used Epic?

I agree bro...use whatever makes it best for what you need...problem is most of these Evo guys take cracks at the epic and the hardware is superior...but the Evo is also a great phone....also its just a phone....I just like to comment when peeps act like it matters most in the world...its a phone....my Epic is the best phone I have owned...and I have flashed many Evo's...I prefer the Epic hands down....but that is my choice....so nothing anyone says will change that.....I also dont need to toot the horn of the phone or say how other phones suck....I understand though that it is just a phone...I have real life shit that matters more...hell I never even check benchmarks unless I wanna toss out facts in rebuttal to nonsense...hence the comments over a simple thing like camera not working when on a phone call...I for one had never even tried it....nor did others until they probably came across this thread....all it did was let the trolls for my phone is better than yours start...I can always stoop down when needed....but facts usually always supercede "mine is better than yours"

As far as selling the epic...I am sure you will have no issue...hit up the bargain trader, xda, or ebay...it will be gone within minutes....

Oh and my battery life has never been an issue....heck just came off a 20 hour run.....but that varies on use and a lot of other things....but usually 10-15 hours life....plus I hae a spare battery .....which I feel is a need for any smartphone if you are using it heavy.....which I do.....samsung widgets....I dont use them...I use lp or adw and other widgets...lockscreen has never been an issue for me....but I understand your issue....

I know what you mean about having to deal with the "Phone Warriors". I am coming from using the Palm Pre. That thing couldn't keep up with the hardware, but the software made my life easier. So I loved the thing. I am hoping that this EVO will keep me busy until I decide whether I want the Pre 3 (or something else) or not...

Well, everyone has an opinion guys....I dont like grapefruit, but that shouldn't stop you from liking it if you do....Im just an HTC fan and love my Evo as its the best phone Ive ever owned.....But, the best phone YOU ever owned may be an Epic....Thats whats great about America, everyone is entitled to an opinon

Yeah, I was (and AM) an HTC fan as I like their phones and love the fact that they are usually supported by a great community of developers. I just got my EVO and will sit with it stock for a while before I go tampering with it but I love the fact that I know that this thing has been tricked out from here to bethlehem by everyone from PPC to XDA. Samsung doesn't have that support yet.

The best phone experience I ever had was with my Palm Treo. In today's terms it can't really do much...but I did love that phone.
