Yeah, I was (and AM) an HTC fan as I like their phones and love the fact that they are usually supported by a great community of developers. I just got my EVO and will sit with it stock for a while before I go tampering with it
but I love the fact that I know that this thing has been tricked out from here to bethlehem by everyone from PPC to XDA. Samsung doesn't have that support yet.
The best phone experience I ever had was with my Palm Treo. In today's terms it can't really do much...but I did love that phone.
