biig problem, need to take broken lcd to sprint but phone is rooted

ok. so i had an accident at work today. i was walking around someones attic and i fell through the ceiling. obviously the first think i noticed was my beloved htc evo laying on the cement. so i picked it up to call my manager to report what just happened and the lcd is busted to peices. now i have insurance and i know it would be a free fix but i am worried because it is rooted and i have superuser icons, rooted app icons, s-off, all this the tech can see once he repairs the screen. what can i do to avoid being booted out or charged a fee when or if they see i have rooted it? is there a way to unroot without the lcd. i went and bought a hdmi cable hoping i could throw my image on the screen and nothing. what to do? please help me. i have looked around and all i see is unroot guides with steps that i have to be able to see what's on my screen.

I don't know if this would unroot but could you flash back to stock using the RUU?

i am downloading it now to try. last one i downloaded a while back gave me an error when i tried to run it. if you have a good link handy you mind posting it up? i would feel better doing the stock ruu than taking it in the way it is.

I don't think you will have anything to worry about, just tell them what happened and you need the screen replaced.

I think you could ADB the unrevoked S-ON to be safe.

you could always blame it on your overly techy friend at work that also has an evo and promised he would pimp your phone out for you if they ask about all the customizations.
I would focus on how lucky you were you didnt loose your testicles, chomp your tounge off or loose an arm falling though the ceiling. Can you please fix this mister?
I am so lucky you can fix this, I coulda really been messed up.

Don't worry about it, I took my wife's Evo in last week with a broken screen and she was rooted and they fixed without a problem. Her screen worked so they could have seen if she was rooted before they fixed it. If your screen is shattered then they wouldn't be able to tell until they powered it up after the fix. Its not like they can keep your phone. Damge to the screen is not software related so it won't matter if your rooted. Now if you were going to bring it in because you lost your RSA keys thats is where being rooted would screw you.

ok sounds safe to take it in. i am going to fool around here tonight with adb for a short time and see if i can get anything done. if not i will take it in to the store tomorrow and just get the screen replaced
