But for this "tweak" you should not have to and probably shouldn't.

I didn't update profile and it is an improvement and working just fine.

ok well your one isolated incident, so lets just say for good measure everyone should update their profile as it would honestly hurt nothing and at the very minimum HELP

It does nothing. All updating profile does is download the data activation (again).

You do have to reboot your phone to load the proxy changes. Updating your profile does effectively reboot your phone half of your phone. So you could do that instead of rebooting.

To everybody: His phone was stuck at 1xRTT, I just helped him switch it to EvDO, nothing out of the ordinary.
