Full websites on froyo? 2nd UPDATE ONLY FIXED SOME WEBSITES, OTHERS STILL MOBILE

After a couple searches and not finding anything except "uncheck mobile versions under settings", I was wondering if there is an answer to showing full/desktop version websites on stock browser? Yes I have mobile version UNCHECKED in settings, and I have even tried site specific links to "desktop" versions that turn up nothing. Why would 2.2 have flash and not show me the "desktop" version of a website?

2 site examples PhiladelphiaEagles.com and NFL.com.

NFL.com has a link to a desktop version but after clicking it takes me to a page that says it can't be located . Am I missing something? Do I need opera or skyfire? Thanks for any help.

UPDATE: Using "about:debug" in the address bar (thanks BradArt) i went to menu/settings then "uastring" where there are several choices listed. When I selected desktop, I was still being forced to some mobile sites (even with mobile versions "unchecked"). So i scrolled down and clicked on "manual" and entered my current desktop string from my laptop. This gave me desktop versions of all websites. I'm not sure if this will stick after a softreset, but it does work for the current browsing session. Hope this helps some one else. Thanks to BradArt and everyone else for their input.

2ND UPDATE: This stays after reset, however sites like nfl.com and profootballtalk.com still force mobile view. Not sure how they can detect my browser when i add a UA string from IE8 off of my laptop. Any ideas?

Re: Full websites on froyo?

you have to change the settings to view pages as 'desktop' and not 'android' not sure the stock browser has that option?

what browser are you using? try dl dolphin HD browser.. then menu>more> settings>user agent and change it to desktop.

Re: Full websites on froyo?

Yea the stock browser just has the box to check or uncheck to "show mobile versions". I'm not aware of anything else. That was 1 of the main things i wanted 2.2 for was the flash player ability.

there are some sites that are so aggressive that they will force you to view the WAP rather than the full page.

Re: Full websites on froyo?

back in WinMo land, there was a tweak to make the site think you were a PC. Dunno if the equivalent exists in Androidville. Might be worth a market search cept don't really effect anything I go to.

Likewise for Skyfire there's a toggle button under the navbar for easy access.

Re: Full websites on froyo?

In the stock browser, in the address bar, type in
Code:
about:debug
and hit enter. Then, hit menu, then settings. There will be a LOT more options for you to choose from. Look for "user agent" and select "desktop"
