Full websites on froyo? 2nd UPDATE ONLY FIXED SOME WEBSITES, OTHERS STILL MOBILE

After a couple searches and not finding anything except "uncheck mobile versions under settings", I was wondering if there is an answer to showing full/desktop version websites on stock browser? Yes I have mobile version UNCHECKED in settings, and I have even tried site specific links to "desktop" versions that turn up nothing. Why would 2.2 have flash and not show me the "desktop" version of a website?

2 site examples PhiladelphiaEagles.com and NFL.com.

NFL.com has a link to a desktop version but after clicking it takes me to a page that says it can't be located . Am I missing something? Do I need opera or skyfire? Thanks for any help.

UPDATE: Using "about:debug" in the address bar (thanks BradArt) i went to menu/settings then "uastring" where there are several choices listed. When I selected desktop, I was still being forced to some mobile sites (even with mobile versions "unchecked"). So i scrolled down and clicked on "manual" and entered my current desktop string from my laptop. This gave me desktop versions of all websites. I'm not sure if this will stick after a softreset, but it does work for the current browsing session. Hope this helps some one else. Thanks to BradArt and everyone else for their input.

2ND UPDATE: This stays after reset, however sites like nfl.com and profootballtalk.com still force mobile view. Not sure how they can detect my browser when i add a UA string from IE8 off of my laptop. Any ideas?
