Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

Just read through the steps and I like this one better than running the batch file. I will use this when I root my daughter's.

When the battery is finished charging I am going to try the Auto Root from XDA. I'll let you know how it goes.

Glad you are out of the woods. Most of us have been there to one degree or another. It is a right of passage, I guess.

Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

The deeper I delve into this the more humble I become. Apparently, the PC36IMG.zip that I downloaded from KarlE's link changed my hboot to 2.10.0001

Where in this title does it imply that flashing this image will change the device's hboot to 2.10? There is no "HBOOT" or even a "2.10.0001" -
Code:
PC36IMG_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed
I am hoping this discovery will resolve the newer issues I have been experiencing.

Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

just use this method
[ROOT][GUIDE] HBoot 2.02/2.10 SOFF - The Savior Edition - Upd. 12.26.10 - xda-developers

htc and sprint never say if there's an hboot version changes in the title and everyone new that 3.70 had an hboot change

you should have downloaded the one the was the same as the version you had

Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

Before attempt to root your phone again go completely back stock flashing the stock ruu! Do this... First make sure HTC Sync is installed on your pc/laptop. Next, boot your evo into hboot. Select "fast boot" and then HTC sync will detect your phone and properly flash it. Run the stock Sprint ruu. Once it finishes, then you can proceed to root. It's safer to do it this way and start all over than to continue from the custom zip you mentioned.

the zip is derived from the ruu it contains all parts that the ruu would load just without install-shield and is made flashable

Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

I successfully rooted and then flashed cyanogenmod. However, I was a bit puzzled that there is no 4G. I found this zip with a newer radio than I currently have (I have 2.15.00.09.01). Do you think this will allow radio cyanogenmod to detect the WiMax radio?

I backed up my RSA keys so I'm not too worried anyway.
