Because since I've had my I have had to take it into sprint repair center and a rom other than the stock rom will raise flags and I don't want to deal with that. Plus the stock rom works perfect for me and all I need root is for wifi tether. Maybe after the 1 year warranty ends I'll install a custom rom

I finally got the update but when it tries to install I get the green android guy and an exclamation point. I pulled the battery again and tried to install again and got the same result. Any advice?

You are rootede and you will not install the OTA. There is an RUU floating around. Use it but you are going to loose root.

You were supposed to uninstall the swype installer and beta swype before doing this update....you need to uninstall those two items and hopefully a restart will work for you. I uninstalled my previous beta swype and the installer package before the update and the update gave me swype. Worked for me......

i didnt know about the update till it showed up on my phone this morning.

Swype was force closing after update. Uninstalled Swype beta installer, restarted phone and its working now.

Im wrong. Its a WV movie, but not from a digital copy. It says "drm license needed" or something for digital copy.
