i ran the software and also the firmware update check and nothing was available. It has all the updates installed such as the visual voice mail and some others such as the third tab for the app store. I think they should rename the marketplace to say app store under the app menu. I forgot a few times they called it market place and not app store. App store makes more sense to me.

If your phone came with 3.29.651.5 than you have the latest software, the 3.30.651.3 software are for the phones that came with different camera hardware that started showing up in the later version 003 and 004 phones. Since yours came with 3.29 that means you don't have the different camera hardware and you won't get the 3.30 update. If you want it you can load a custom rom that incorporates 3.30 but you won't get it as an OTA because it doesn't apply to your phone. You should be happy, because the 3.29 software was easily rooted using unrevoked 3.21.

On your other suggestion, we don't call it the App store because that's what the Iphone calls it and we are better than that crap phone.

I know they won't self implode, but someone has to stop them from jumping off the cliff just cause their buddy told them to. Just today, the first post at the top of the forums was another noob that tried to root his brand new evo and got the red triangle lock up because he didn't read or research first. In his post he states what method he used at xda and in the title of that method it even states that this method is outdated but he used it anyway. Its like lambs to the slaughter. I'm just hoping someone will see this post and say hey, I should verify what method of root I should use based on my phones hardware or software before messing up my phone.

alls i can say is HBOOT version 2.02 doesnt work w/ unrevoked, hardware software doesnt really matter. thats the only thing i went off when i rooted mine, i had HBOOT 1.76 or something like that

and we can actually hold our phones in our hands as the iphone you cant without a bumper case. Also we can have adult movies as steve jobs said get an android device for that.... of course i dont have adult things on it but i could if i wanted to. oh and we have flash with 2.2 android! take that apple
