Odd, very odd. But, it is working .

Cruise, thanks for thinking about the custom ROMS but as my whole family have EVOs on the stock edition, I find it easier to troubleshoot keeping it vanilla for us all .

Thanks to all!
You are not rooted?

Re: WiFi Tether blues.....

Yep, rooted! But on stock. No custom ROMs. My first or second post has the link on XDA for how I did it.

Re: WiFi Tether blues.....RESOLVED! :-)

I have never been able to install an OTA while rooted. I always had to wait for a rooted ROM.

Re: WiFi Tether blues

i hope someone can help me out with the tether app, It seems very sporadic with the connection, I changed the frequency and the lan IP settings, to a random choice, is there any particular frequency, and or lan address i should be using to get the best performance?

Re: WiFi Tether blues.....RESOLVED! :-)

I had a similar problem on my wifes Evo, but it was always with a file in /data/data/android.tether/bin

Nandroid restores didnt work. I finally un-installed WifiTether, and then used Root Explorer to delete that entire directory, then re-installed the program. It rebuilt the directory, and all worked well then

Hate to ask yo9u to jump the rails but I just installed AzRael Rom and life is good. It has WiFi Tether built in and it works. The install is flawless and this Rom is tight. Follow his recommends to the tee and you won't be dissapointed.

Be sure you are on AMON RA.
