Sprint AirRave2 possible SMS MMS one hour timestamp culprit

I just had the "2016" sms nightmare flashback earlier when looking at my EVO. It seems like after checking a few things out, the AirRave2 might be sending some false info to the EVO about what time it is.

I received a few text messages and all seem to show the time as being -1 hour. (If a text is sent at 5:00pm, it arrives instantly but says it arrived at 4:00pm.)

Disconnecting the AirRave seems to correct the issue...until you plug it back in. I suggest anyone affected contact Sprint's AirRave support team and advise them of the issue so they can get a fix rolled out.

Once again, this only seems to be related to the AirRave2.

Anyone experiencing the issue needs to contact Sprint: (866) 556-7310.

Re: Sprint AirRave2 possible SMS MMS one hour timestamp culprit

Glad to see others with this issue. I called tech support yesterday and they kept trying to blame it on my EVO. I told them I had this issues back when I got the airave(was time stamping two hours ahead at that time) They finally issued a work ticket to get the issue resolved. I agree with Chris. Call tech support and tell them to fix. this should get the fire a little hotter.

Re: Sprint AirRave2 possible SMS MMS one hour timestamp culprit

I called earlier today about this issue and the tech told me it was a known issue, unknown ETA on a fix and then said "you have to wait for the Airave to catch up with the time" So I asked him if that meant I had to wait until the Spring when time changes again Between this, the no call waiting sound when using the Airvana, and other issues I have had I really wish I had just kept the original Airave.

I will still take the newer AirRave with the 3G data built in over the old, however this is a pretty common issue with Sprint. They can never seem to figure out what time it is.

It bothers me too that call waiting notifications do not work either. I would not pay for this thing if I had to. Guess thats why I haven't complained that much to them, its free..lol.

Re: Sprint AirRave2 possible SMS MMS one hour timestamp culprit

my airave gives me texts 10 to 12 times sometimes. ill just have to unplug it for a few hours and it goes back to normal. i literally get the same message 10 times. sent messages will send numerous times. i know its the airave though because it stops when i unplug it. i doesnt affect the network usage though. like a few days a go i got the same picture mail 8 times. my account still say 2 picture mails used.
i wouldnt pay for this things service either.
