not recognized in computer?? HELP!

I just got a EVO 4G from ebay. I plug in the USB cable to two different computers.. ONE running XP PRO and ONE runing VISTA HOME PREMIUM. the phone recognizes the cable is in and the charge light comes on and the battery charge indicator does its thing.. HOWEVER, the computer does not say that it found new hardware. I have tried everything.. the phone doesnt even come up and ask me what I want to do. ANY IDEAS??

try going to menu>settings>apps>development> and uncheck debugging. hope that works

already unchecked and checking didnt help either

Are you using the STOCK cable that came with the EVO or a third party one?

You "should" be able to slide the notification bar down and press Charge Only and switch.

But it sounds like you are using a 3rd party cable on a non-updated EVO (radio).

The cable saus SEIDIO on it so I guess it isnt the stock one? I bough this phone off of ebay. if I dont have the stock cable what do I need to do??

Borrow a Samsung or Blackberry mini usb cable and see if it makes a difference for you.

Dont have access to them. I did, However, try a cable from a PALM PRE and that didnt work either..

also there is nothing on the notification bar.. it says NO NOTIFICATIONS

What radio / baseband is your EVO on (settings > about phone > software information)?

baseband 2.15.00.07.28

what does that have to do with the USB issue??
