Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

Let me try this again: Can someone who also has the airvana try going to this address 192.168.17.1 and see if they can connect to it? Mine won't for some reason. It's the address to configure the airvana. I want to set mine up to see if it will connect to the internet better.

I just got mine a week ago and was able to connect to it immediately on that address. How are you connected to it?

The airvana is locked out to public access. That ip address only works with the older airave. I have spoken to tech support about this and they claim there is no way to change the restrictions. This is why that ip will not connect to the airvana.

Ah thank you, friend. I was on the verge of contacting them myself. Its crazy they say that because the instruction manual says to connect to this ip.

Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

Its not the device, about six weeks ago my airave stopped working, about the time we got 3g here, after hoours of tech support sprint replaced the airave with an airvana, after many more hours with tech they replaced this with a new airvana, same problem it still wont connect. I have hooked it before and after router. Reset, hard reset, reset modem, router, and airvana, tried all router settings I can think of. I would really like for this thing to work.

I use the stock app and I get message not sent errors when it really has sent so people get the same text from me 3-7 times (depends on how long it takes me to go unplug the Airvana.) I have talked to Airave support numerous times and have been told by them and from 2 supervisors that there are known issues with the new model. One of them being the SMS issue I am having. Last I heard they haven't figured it out and it makes no sense when phone calls work fine and both phone and text use 1x. It was a lot worse when I first got the Airvana and I have been having less issues lately. One of the first days I had it I had to unplug it over 30 times in one day to be able to text. The last 2 weeks have not been as bad, so maybe they did an update. Though last night I had to unplug it 6 different times to get it to stop giving me SMS errors.

The other problem they told me they are having, which I had noticed too, is that I can not set the Airvana to private on the website and restrict it to certain numbers. Every time I do, it says it saved and then if you check again it's right back to public.

Kind of wish I had kept the original Airave instead as I never had any issues with it.
I have this same issue going in since I first got the airvana when it dropped. All they do is make the ticket to engineer and I wait for the phone call and for an odd reason it works flawlessy with no issues. 2 weeks later the same issue I call and another ticket. Last week I called them and he told me to call replacement because the one I got sounds defective. Ima do it and try it if still gives issue ill just disconnect it a d out back the old airave.

Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

I have the new airvana and can connect to that IP address. However, the problem I'm having is when I make a phone call it will drop the call at about 45 sec and reconnect. So basically I'll be talking to someone and all of the suddently it will drop the call and I'll hearing rining in the ear piece like I just called the person and am waiting for them to pick up. It does this three times in a row all about 45-50 seconds apart and then drops the call copletely. It does this with multiple phones not just the evo but does not do this on every call. I've called tech support and every time I call I can't reproduce the problem. It's really annoying though.

I am joining the club. I have had three brand new airvanas with no success. Multiple attempts with technical support. Every blue moon I will wake up in the middle of the night and it will be connected. When it works its great. I think the evo and airvanna are not really compatible. I have a new modem and router. Still nothing consistent.
