Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

"We" all DONT have bad "pieces". i have both the original samsung version and now the airvana. out of the box on both i never had any issues with connecting.. i have had a bb tour on the first one, to the htc hero and touch pro2 and now the evo.. all phone played nice with the original--now i only have the evo.

not knowing how your network is setup its going to be difficult to troubleshoot over the internet.

however, to start off, those of you who have the airvana model, is it before your router or is it after the router?

its perfectly FINE and i RECOMMEND putting it AFTER the router. there are threads discussing why on this very forum so i wont get into that.

if you have all the lights solid then turn off your wifi on your handset and just use the airvana for 3G and voice.

do a data profile update.

this box is super simple. theres not much we can do to it on our end. if you are still having issues, then bring in airava tech support.

Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

Well, rebooting no longer solves my issue. The only thing that solves it is unplugging the POS Airvana. Did no one at Sprint test this thing and realize that it doesn't work like its supposed to? I can't send texts or make calls or receive calls. I get the "message not sent" error from handcent constantly. Even if I tell it not to send the message, it keeps sending me that error. Has anyone figured anything out? I'm going to leave mine unplugged for a while and see if it works later. I don't wanna call Sprint/Airave because they treat you like you're stupid.

Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

Mine just wont connect. I have mine connected to my router, the same way the other was with no issue. I already switched back to the airave and my problems are solved

I have dsl so no router here. It worked fine up until this point. I don't know what's changed.

Sent from my HTC Evo via the optional mind-link function.

Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

I just reset mine and I'm waiting for it to re-initialize. Maybe that will help. I don't know.

Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

So after resetting it, it seems to be working fine now. I thought maybe I should configure it to connect to the internet via 192.168.17.1, but everytime I punch that in to my pc's browser, it won't connect to it. Can someone with an Airvana try putting this in their browser's address and see if they can connect to it? Thanks!

Wirelessly posted (HTC Evo...SNAPPYDRAGON: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; Sprint APA9292KT Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

I have the same issues here a well. I have the airvana. It pisses me off when it does this too. Hell, I even woke up this morning to a damn roaming signal in the airave coverage. Its a dang good thing this piece of shit is free. I also noticed that when sending messages and this error occurs, its sends the damn message to my friends our family a shit load of times. This is a bad problem IMO.

Re: Evo Airave/Handcent/Data connection issue

I get the text hangs occasionally, but not as often as I did before I re-configured. What I did, that seems to work better than the manual shows is this: Modem>Router>Airvana (Set DMZ in router using MAC Id) hard reset Airvana. I get solid green lights and full connection throughout my house. Occasionally, every 100 texts or so, I get a hang for some unknown reason. I will unplug the airvana when I see this happen let the texts in the phone clear out, plug it back it and will be good for a while before I have to repeat. Overall I would say it is worth the troubles. The signal and data I get with it working correctly is amazing.
