Re: how to install custom roms on evo

first make a nandroid backup just incase you mess something up then go to recovery do a full wipe (data/cache/davlik) then reboot system now and your all set, also what recovery are you using Amon or clockworkmod? if clockworkmod DL quickboot its easy 3 options reboot, recovery and bootloader and once your in recovery you'll see the options there wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache then you can find wipe davlik cache on advance once thats done go to install zip from sdcard then choose zip from sdcard you will see bunch of folder of your sdcard. i am not sure where you put your roms, themes etc.. but i organize mine in the download folder to remember easliy. so once you do the full wipe just select which custom rom you want to use but im been seeing some post that clockwordmod recovery isnt wiping everything so if you have a amon ra recovery then use that if you have rom manager just do a flash altenative recovery so once you go recovery your on amon ra recovery instead of clockworkmod recovery. if you cant click flash alternate recovery go to the top click flash clockworkmod recovery once done go back to flash alternate recovery click it and you will have Amon ra recovery when you go to recovery. if you want to go back to clockworkmod just go again to the top flash clockworkmod recovery and your back with clockworkmod recovery.

clockworkmod v2.5.0.1... is wat im using... wen u say WIPE CACHE... theres an option that says Wipe Cache Partition... is that wat i choose? or just "Wipe data/factory reset" and then "Advance > Wipe dalvik cache".... and then install the ROM?... i am trying to install Fresh ROM.

Thanx

Re: how to install custom roms on evo

I would use amonRa recovery because all the roms require that. Clockmod doesnt play nice with a lot of the Roms
