Hey this used to be an issue with the HTC Touch Pro refurbished replacements. It's the wiring or pads under the LCD touching it..

Hard one to get a replacement for, since they will site that it does not affect you use of the phone and purely cosmetic. YMMV

The Screen Lift issue is in the list of "known" problems, and probably the only reason needed to have a replacement ordered for you.

Think they would replace an Evo from Google I/O that has the screen lifting issue, this same spot issue, isn't covered under insurance, and was purchased on Ebay?
The screen lifting doesn't really bother me at all since I have a case on it and can't tell anyways, the screen spot issue though is actually starting to irritate me.

This has been a HTC problem since days of the Mogul. I'm not sure what causes it but I've seen this happen on my Mogul and Touch Pro. I didn't have my TP2 long enough to see it on there.

Re: screen burn-in on my evo

Same issue here. I took mine to the Sprint Store. The tech simply just changed out the screen. No waiting for a refurb, and most importantly no expensive insurance claim.
