Same as every other OTA. Wait!

Before trying anything, if you're concerned about losing root, wait until it's confirmed that you don't lose root or there is a rooted version.

Excellent. For the people not wanting to lose root.. just have patience. One of the greats on here will post it as a cracked rom update soon.

I think if your rooted and still on Stock 2.2 with no new kernel you should be fine.

Granted this is speculation when I say this but I would have to agree that it should not cause root loss. I am 100% stock rooted. Just did it to use tether...as most that wanted tether only. I guess we shall see. I can here the guys over at unrevoked....something along the lines of "SH%#!!!! REALLY? An update now???? WTF?!?!" But Im sure they are up for the challenge if it needs cracking.
