Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

hboot was not a problem. Mine came because I was doing it from the loader, not the regular Android Launcher. After looking at the directions and noting what I was doing, going to the Android Launcher and beginning there for the final part worked fine. I should have taken the time to look at a video.

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

Probably not, but the theory between the various approaches is much the same. I read all of them and gave it a shot. What I did not do: patience. I got impatient when it said "waiting for boot" - so I rebooted the device manually. Had I just taken a break, it would have been done in 1 step. Remembering that most everything can be "undone," I then started playing and noted the prompts were not what I was expecting. After a while I then decided to do it the right way and with patience sitting beside me, it was done.

The multiple step method is nice 'cause it forces one to pay attention to the details. The 1-step method requires nothing but following the instructions. If you 1-step, follow the instructions and do not play or be impatient. Impatience and play add extra time.

1. you need to put the phone in boot loader mode (power off, then volume down and power on till you see the boot loader screen)
2. choose hboot usb (you will need to toggle to it, then hit power button)
3. connect phone via usb
4. when prompted by computer manually install driver from where you downloaded
5. reboot phone after successful installation (you will have an entry for android bootloader in device manager)
6. after you phone has rebooted make sure you connect via usb / charge only mode with usb debugging enabled
7. run reflash.exe and follow the prompts
8. be patient if you have the drivers installed properly on your pc the root will take about 3 - 10 minutes (your phone will reboot a few times.. dont panic it is normal behavior)

*** now i am saying this out of tough love for everyone having issues***

if you dont know how to connect your phone to your pc and load some drivers then you really shouldnt be rooting your phone... its not that complicated, it just takes patience
