After driver is installed reboot phone to normal home screen. Then plug in cable and run unrevoked. Just follow the steps it says on the program from there. It is very easy trust me I'm a noob myself when it comes to android

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

I love my evo even more now that is rooted. I installed overclock widget and juicedefender and my battery lasts me till about 6pm after unplugging at 7:40am. Before it would only last me till 2:30pm. Has anyone used wifi tether on 4g yet? How is the speed and battery drain?

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

I just downloaded the file and look forward to trying it this afternoon. I have never been this nervous about playing before. Goodness.

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

Relax, everything will be fine! Just make sure you have the unrevoked drivers and uninstall any other htc drivers. I'm glad I took the plunge and rooted.

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

Done. Took several tries before it came up and said done on the laptop as the Evo was going through and doing its thing. I read somewhere there was a way to tell if rooted; now gotta find that. Easy? Yep, if done correctly.

I found it on page 5, so I am rutted! or is that rooted? At my age, it must be rooted.

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

I did the Unrevoked 3 installation, got the Super User thing in apps and it shows that Titanium Backup has permission to play and when I start Titanium Backup, it says the device is not rutted. The error message: "...I could not acquire root privileges."

Looks like it is wanting BusyBox. Downloaded it and that was the problem. BusyBox was not installed.

Now if you want those sprint aps gone but don't want to flash a new rom then try root explorer or even better try Titanium Backup for Android ? Official Site titanium backup. Both will only work if rooted. Now on 4g signal no. My 4g works great with unrevoked and it also keeps all data and stock rom. Your phone will be no different other then now having root
