The unrevoked method does not erase any information unlike the method that requires reverting back to 2.1. I love unrevoked.

I never sync my phone to me pc.. So thats good?
You need to install htc sync fist. Set you phone to debug mode. Let the htc driver install. After htc sync see's phone uninstall just htc sync not htc driver. Next install the unrevoked driver public:windows_hboot_driver_install [RootWiki]. Follow that link. After you do that run the unrevoked. Good luck I have rooted 3 evos so far with no issues.
Ok after I done all that .. I just unplug my phone from my pc n im root it right?

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

I downloaded it from the first time they put it up on the unrevoked site. i was waiting for the new updated version to come out, but got tired of waiting around and flash it anyways. Works like a charm, no bugs at all and flashed it with in 5 mins. i still have it if anyone would like it hit me up with a p.m and i can also show you how to do it.

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

Worked for me ... I just installed the modified driver from public:windows_hboot_driver_install [RootWiki] . I never had installed HTC Sync, so didnt mess with it.

Re: Unrevoked 3 test build

 • On EVO 4G, you will have to select HBOOT USB at that menu by pressing volume down four times, then power. Wait until the screen flashes through an “SD Checking” message before pressing buttons; otherwise, the phone will ignore keypresses.

Connect the phone to your Windows machine with a USB cable and wait for the phone to say HBOOT USB PLUG on screen.

Open Device Manager.
 • Click Start, then right click on Computer, then click Properties, then click Device Manager.

Under Other devices, you should now see the Android 1.0 device, similar to the picture below.... ok then i lil screen pop out sayin that i need to install android 1.0 hardware .. i press install but then it said it wont install bcus there wasnt a hardware .. what im doing wrong
