Water sticker missing on 4 new evos?

lots of phones have them hidden inside the phone and then when the tech cracks the phone they can tell even if you can't. guess they found out about our little clear tape secret lol

Yeah I checked with a Sprint store today...his Evo didn't have the sticker either. My guess is they put it inside so people can't mess with them...good thinking though. Just random that they changed it.

A few year ago I bought an HP4700. HP was out of stock but PCMall claimed they had them. I bought one and in about a month the speaker crapped out. I called HP, since it was under warranty and they had me send it in. I did so and they called me a few days later and said the phone was not under warranty since it had the "secret sticker" removed. (it was to be embedded in a deep screw hole over the screw head)
They wanted $250 to repair the PDA or simply $109 to send it back!!!
I went crazy and started investigating my options. I was not going to pay anyone. I went to my company lawyers and they wrote up a threatening letter but HP would not budge. Then I layed out the whole story and sent it to the board of directors of HP. Within a few days, my phone was returned.
I got a hold of PC Mall and twisted their arm. Their saleman admitted that a "refurb" may have slipped out. They did replace the 4700 with a true new one but since I had muddied the waters with HP, they refused to sell me the extended warranty.
The entire affair was a nightmare and I have since ceased all business with PC mall, as has my friend who is the CEO of CoinMaster.
Be careful my friend. There are some very shiftless people out there.

got a new shipment all stickers that were on the very edge are "hiding" so yes they changed it! nope you are not the only one but this means you will not know if you water damage your phone. so...if you are one of those people that take your phone in the bathroom while you shower so your sig other doesn't go through it...put it in a ziplock or wrap it in a towel while it is in your steamy bathroom!!! I work at a tech center and you would not believe how many people tripped their sensor because of this or keeping it in their sweaty bra (which is gross btw). lol

they took them off because techs were seeing the LDI tripped and not looking further in the phone, now techs have to open the device to see if there is any LD.
