Re: CM6 Rom (Detailed) Edit: shortened

I can't argue 4g but I can't help but laugh at people who praise a lame ass fm radio and a half ass implimentation of HDMI as awesome freakin features that make the EVO so awesome they can't live without them.

I do agree. 4G would be great.. I get 4G in Santa Monica too. The rest.. meh. I have never used the FM radio or HDMI out. I'm still trying to find a use for HDMI out. How many hotels have a TV with HDMI in? Also, I'd rather play games when traveling then watch tv.. but I'm weird!

Re: CM6 Rom (Detailed) Edit: shortened

i didnt want to switch to cm6 simply because it was not complete in my eyes, but i just did last weekend anyways, out of all 3 of those features, i actually use HDMI the most, but still not that much. So i made the decision to load cm6, i have a good nanroid backup of my previous burnt rom so if i ever need to use any of those features i will just nanroid backup cm6 and load my nanroid backup of burnt rom, its not that big of an issue. i just want a complete rom, and in my eyes, its not complete until it has hdmi and 4g, i could care less about fm radio.

I think if the cyanogen team can make full HDMI out a reality then its game over.

Another positive for CM is being able to use a wii remote and to some that out weighs 4g..It just really depends on each person but for people who dont use 4G but use a wii remote for example may consider the sense ROM's incomplete.

Downloading and watching movies on 4g and with HDMI you can watch the movies you dl to your phone on your TV. I do about 200 GB a month, been doing so for about 5 years on 3g, with 4G it just makes it that much faster. DL Blueray movies straight to my phone, then just plug it to my plasma and start watching.

I know you can load Sprint VVM but not having that and also not having HTC calendar widget was a deal breaker for me. Pure Grid Calender Widget just didn't cut it.

The calendar widget was a big deal for me too. I now use Jorte as the replacment. I didnt like Pure grid either. Anyway I have beautiful widgets and when I click the date Jorte opens up. This to me is much better for two reasones. First it eliminates a screen and seconed its always right there.

What makes CM6 so good compared to all the other ROMs..?? Is it just personal preference or is there something I'm not finding in all the changelogs and such that make it superior to the rest..??

Ok.. So far.. compared to stock non rooted.

My phone has NEVER rebooted on it's own with CM6. It used to on the stock rom.

My phone sleeps fine and has extended battery life because of it. My stock (ie non rooted) ROM setup would ALWAYS stop sleeping 3-4 days after a hard reset. Even if I kept it totally stock. (no additional apps)

My phone is way more responsive and faster in every respect.
