No need to dogg the rom you don't like it?cool, but alot of people enjoy CM's hard work no need to call it a downgrade.

I am in a 4g area but use CM6. I have WiFi at home so no need for 4g but would love to have it when I am out in public. However the speed and stability of CM is so much better than any sense based ROM. The pros far outweigh the cons for my needs.

I have to agree completely with you. I love AOSP ROMs and to me it is the farthest thing from a downgrade.

2nd. Its not a downgrade. If you love HTC sense this roms not for you. If you dont like or can deal with out HTC sense this roms great and deffinantly not a down grade. For me it was an upgrade. I was already using ADW before CM6 so it was heaven when I found out his rom was using it. You dont like ADW then use launcher pro. Either way you can use any launcher other then sense. Sense isnt customizable at all. I only use 2 pages what am I going to do with the other 5 pages just let them be open space. I cant swipe the doc bar down to reveal a few apps with sense. I cant swype up or down to oppen or cause a comand with sense. I cant have an app drawer that swypes to the side like the Galaxy S with sense. Thats a big plus tha app drawer its so much smoother.

You should try some of the other launchers on the market they are huge upgrades over sense. The only thing nice about sense for most people is the widgets and thats pretty much enogh to keep people from converting. Sense has some nice widgets and although there are replacements on the market for each of those widgets there not exactly as nice looking. The only widget I use though is a PSN widget so I am not suffering at all.

Its a matter of prefrence in the end. Its nice that we have so many options. We can choose between roms and launchers we get to choose.

I can't argue 4g but I can't help but laugh at people who praise a lame ass fm radio and a half ass implimentation of HDMI as awesome freakin features that make the EVO so awesome they can't live without them.

I do agree. 4G would be great.. I get 4G in Santa Monica too. The rest.. meh. I have never used the FM radio or HDMI out. I'm still trying to find a use for HDMI out. How many hotels have a TV with HDMI in? Also, I'd rather play games when traveling then watch tv.. but I'm weird!

yea its got super cool vanilla froyo/adw and mods to the OS , but it strips it of its core features that set it above other phones. Im not here to sway people away from it, im sure its great, but a evo with no sense, 4G, FM radio, or even the HDMI out, isnt even a evo anymore. lol. its some nexus-evo bastard child.

Ok.. for me, the experience of an amazing responsive interface , very fast access and MUCH improved reliability is better then the features you mention. I live in a 4G area, I could care less. 3G gives me 1.5 down and 800K up, and I use WiFi in my pad. HDMI out.. why? I have two HD Win7 Media Machines hooked up to a 8 GIG media NAS server. FM.. I could care less.

Anytime an interface is layered on top of another (IE sense) it complicates things and put an additional strain on resources. For NO good reason, other then to make an HTC device "look" different. HTC did this with WinMo too, if you ever had one.

Actually, the mail app in my CM6 rom has a great feature that sense does not. Multi Select! I can check a bunch of junk mail and delete in one shot. That single feature is more important to me then any of the ones you mention.

But in the end.. to each tis own.. and best of luck to ya.
