Re: Phone won't sleep - losing patience with my EVO

How many apps do you have if not to many then just list them here for us to see. Also just becaue it shows up in your running services doesnt mean its cauing your phone to not sleep. I use swype and my phone sleeps just fine. Yes swype uses a tad more battery but I bet shapewritere does to. I am not saying this to be mean or make anyone sound stupid but sometimes people are fooled by why something is in running services. Sometimes people assume its a bad thing.

Just to be sure your phone isnt sleeping can you give us the two diffrent times? For instance my total up time right now is 17+hours and my awake time is only 2 sometime. If those times are the same then your phone isnt sleeping. If those times are diffrent then you are confused and your phone is sleeping. You have system panel click the help button and do some short reading its pretty informative.

Also if you hard reset your phone and this is a real issue that keeps reacuring, if you have insurance swap your phone out. Its probably not the phone but its probably an app. I know this can be stressful I have had my share of sleep issues lol. Most of them either resolved them selves or where actually none excistant.

One more thing, regardless of what people tell you on this forum. Dont install task killers you dont need one. If your phone is working properly a task killer can actually be worse. If you are going to install anything install juice. I used my phone for 9 hours the other day before it died, five and half of those hours where none stop usage. I mean I was on it constantly. It was dead at work and games are fun lol. the other three and a half hours I was on it lightly. I regularly get a full day plus out of my phone and Id say I use it moderatly to heavy.

Are you using the stock HTC battery becuase a bad battery would die quick even if your phone was sleeping. You might be better off just swaping that phone out to start fresh.

Re: Phone won't sleep - losing patience with my EVO

There is or are posts about the music widget keeping the phone awake checking your SD card all the time for new music, especially every time you swipe to the screen it's on..

First thing I remove on friends' Evo, second is that friend stream..
