EXACTLY... You can either keep your TP2 signed up as a spare... and pay $9 per month for an additional line where it is only good for tethering... or pay $10 once and use PDAnet. but switching entirely is just retarded.

you had to pay to use PDANet..??? I'm using it right now as we speak, for free...

Most people have to pay after a trial period is over or else SSL does not work.

I don't use it because I still have a TP2 under contract that just sits in a drawer until I need to tether. Then I dust it off only for that. It's a POS otherwise.

I ready to go back to 2.1 so bad. The apps just stay open and my battery life was better rooted on 2.1 then 2.2. So one need to preform a miracle.... Im ready to go back in time.... The leak version was better then the original...

Maybe you just need to hard reset. My battery life is identical. One thing I did notice is that when you take the OTA, it reverts back to default settings of battery sucking... so you need to re-tweak it to get it back to normal. I am in the same spot as before. Apps don't just stay open... only some do (the syncing ones).

I went nuts trying to pin down why my phone wont sleep. Bone stock rom. Many Many hard resets. I found the culprit! Swype!

Yes, our beloved swype was causing my issue. I'm 100% sure. Your mileage may vary! I think it was running in the backround and talking up more cpu cycles too, although I cannot prove this. My phone seems faster now. I have a ton of apps, the phone sleeps fine.
