Re: android 2.2!!

hey people, heres a fast link
http://leetfx.com/OTA_Supersonic_3.2...2e98n4o6xn.zip

  1. Download the Android 2.2
  2. Rename the file to update.zip and place it on your SD card.
  3. Power off your phone then restart it while holding VOLUME DOWN and hit POWER.
  4. Wait for fastboot to load (screen with skating Androids). Use the VOLUME DOWN key to navigate the menu to RECOVERY and select it by pressing POWER.
  5. When you see the “/!\” symbol, press the VOLUME UP and POWER button at the same time to display the options. You should be presented with a menu and one of the options should be “Apply sdcard:update.zip”.
  6. Use the VOLUME DOWN to navigate to “apply sdcard:update.zip” and select it.
  7. Wait 10-15 minutes for the update to install and then reboot your phone when prompted.

THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!! REMEMBER

BTW THIS ROM IS AMAZING!

Keep in mind also that this ROM is NOT rooted. Once you flash it you will lose root until XDA finds a way to get it again.

If you need root you should use the procedure and files located at XDA here

Re: android 2.2!!

R u guys seeing any noticeable differences between this and 2.1? i see some guys saying it seems faster, do u mean sense or internet speed or wat? i assume the main thing is installing apps on the sd card, but as of right now if i didnt check device info i wud think im still on 2.1 which was always pretty fast 2 me anyways, just wondering wat differences others have noticed.

I think to two main things that jump out are overall system speed and Flash support. Everything else I have seen are minor tweeks. Good none the less. I know that now you can use a password or code to unlock your phone versus using the pattern deal. That may not be new but I have not seen it before.

Differences are really noticeable on linpack speed tests. About 4x faster. There's nothing out there that really uses the speed that the EVO can offer. Animations are smoother, FULL Adobe flash, voice dial over bluetooth! and a couple other minor things (camera, icons, etc) are some of the other improvements.

when u say flash support, wat sites r enabled now with the update that wasnt before? if u know of or have tried 1 that is, and the overall system speed do u mean like apps opening up? i usually use launcherpro so i disabled to see if the sense was quicker, cant really say that it was but maybe i need to use it a little more 2 notice the differences if u guys r.

Re: android 2.2!!

It never really lagged in the first place. That's why I say there isn't much out there that can push this phone to its limits. Texting has always been smooth for me on 2.1 or 2.2.

It's just the fact that our phones can do 30MFlops on 2.2 vs 6MFlops on 2.1 (Whatever that means) Haha
