Re: android 2.2!!

It's the same version as what's listed on the Sprint support page (3.26.651.3). I think it's legit.

However, I also notice that many of my downloaded apps no longer appear on the Market's download page.

Re: android 2.2!!

I am also having trouble with the update process. I power off the phone, boot into FASTBOOT USB by pressing Vol Up + Power, I select BOOTLOADER which ties to load the PC386 ROM and fails stopping at HBOOT prompt. At HBOOT I select RECOVERY which boots in the "Android System recovery" menu where I select "Flash zip from sdcard". This finds the update.zip file on the SD card if and only if the file has an extension of zip. When I remove the zip extension the system does not find anything to load.

Selecting the update.zip file the phone replies:

Install from sdcard ...
Finding update package ...
Opening update package ...
Verifying update package ...
Installing update ...
Verifying current system ...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app.Maps.apk", "84829af1e9c6be: unknown command [fa282eaa6b09149e5114c5bd71".]

E:Error in /sdcard/Update.zip
(Status 7)

Installation aborted

This leaves me back in the Android system recovery menu and I can reboot to the 2.1 ROM.

Any ideas?

Leo

You should notice speed increase. You should notice some icon changes especially the HTC power setting control icons. You will see adobe flash showcase (flash player) in the market.

They look the same. It works way better though. For example, when you have no reception and type a text, it will send when you regain reception. Pretty cool

Re: android 2.2!!

GTALK messages look different and regular text messages have more options and look different as well. Looks like you can forward messages now.
