Even if its not the final 2.2 build from HTC, it is light years better than the official 2.1 release. The phone is now blazing fast alot of subtle changes too like icons and such.

I made sure that it wasnt named update.zip.zip. it has the correct file name and extension. I've tried doing it the update way and by installing zip with recovery, also tried it with the original name. still no dice. sorry for not being clear in what i had tried already. The FROYO gods are frowning apon me tonight.

The file I installed is this and actually found it off Google in the twitter update section:

OTA_Supersonic_3.26.651.3-1.47.651.1_releaseu2cqjc2e98n4o6xn.zip

I believe it is the same file located on the first post in this thread. I can upload it somewhere if anyone wants it, however they need to provide the space. I think this is the official 2.2 final release as it is too polish to not be. Just my humble opinion.

i just ran gears for the 1st time with 2.2 and it hit 70fps and I just about craped a brick..Then 2 seconds passed and it droped to 30

And for those asking how you do it. Rename it update.zip (if you do not have file extensions enabled on your pc just rename it update) ...put it on the root of SD card. Power off the phone, go into bootloader mode (Power + Volume Up), select recovery, should get red triangle with !, Power + Volume up again, then choose update
