Hey there, getting to love it. I didn't get any sleep that night (Thursday into Friday), but just kept getting things back to as close to the way I need it for work as I could, then went to work in multiple locations, involving 250+ miles of driving, and got home at 9PM last night, dead tired. I made a couple posts from the Evo, but didn't want to get back on this thread until I could properly respond from a laptop.

At first, I thought I didn't like the Damage Control ROM that much, but that was related to things it was doing in the background as part of the setup, like index hundreds of photos, etc. My camcorder wouldn't work, and I NEED that everyday, as in those travels, I take many mission-critical videos and email them on the spot. I thought I would have to take my laptop with and use a regular digital camera.

But all the issues resolved themselves. I think the big culprit is the 2nd Gallery program included in the ROM, the one with the "slick" interface. It is from some 2nd party, not HTC or Google, and I can't seem to remove it, it must be a favorite of the DC maker. I thought it was the only Gallery, and I don't care for "slick" or "cartooney" if it affects functionality one iota. However, I found the HTC one is in the programs, so all is well.

While that aftermarket Gallery was indexing, and I turned on the camcorder, it was flashing the screen and freaking out and totally unresponsive.

Also, while my programs were restoring from MyBackup, I went to the Internet to see how that worked. Everytime something happened in the background, the little bar on top, which doesn't show while you are on the net, would briefly force it's way into the picture and shoved everything down with it, making it impossible to read, click on links, type, etc., and this happened 100's of times. But I believe that was an issue related to MyBackup's Restore function.

So in the end, I LOVE the ROM. I'm glad I was patient. I basically had no choice, as I at least had the phone and email working, and could work around the rest until later. But by the time I left for work, I was very happy with the ROM, and am getting to like it more. BTW, I'm still tired lol, I'm an old man.

I feel you on that one... I ended up getting about an hour of sleep Thursday night. Started work at 6... worked my 9 hours... caught a 30 minute cat nap... bowled my league (worst scores I ever rolled... about 30 under average for the night)... straight to the bar.... stayed till close and came home and played rummy with a friend until 4.... I woke up earlier today long enough to have a smoke and passed back out.... finally awake now...

I remember when I could pull of nights like that without even blinking... must be getting old myself.

Re: Spiraling nightmare - mail crashes - error

For those having any issue with wireless tether on Damage Control 3.2.3, there is a file in the thread below, Post # 1, that works fine, without going through all the steps, BUT you must manually uninstall the previous version of wireless tether first. You don't need to be at the unrevoked3 level, whatever unrevoked you ran to get Damage Control to install works fine. Just remember to MANUALLY uninstall the older wireless tether first. I had a version of wireless tether that ended in "pre2.apk", and the new one ends in "pre2-1.apk". The new one won't install (for me anyway) with the old one installed.
