Re: Help with contacts from WinMo to Evo

PS, have tried beaming via Bluetooth from one to ther other? I think there's an application that lets you do this.

<I say I think because I seem to remember the bluetooth stack in Android is woefully lacking>

I tried that already and aging I am simply unable to use this for Exchange server. Don't know what the problem can be.

Also tried this a year ago with TP1 and Mogul. Had same problem
What doesn't work when you follow those steps? There is no exchange server involved, by the way...

lol.... So when U switched with Active Sync, do you mean using Exchange server, or HTC Sync or what?

To Salty, I tried your way of Exporting to CVS from Outlook. Contacts worked but no pics in contacts now. Also, calandar doesn't update with birthdays. I did it on lunch. When I get home in 1 hr I'm going to try exporting outlook calander too and hopefully that works.

Only problem I see with that and Tasks is that when I try exporting, it can only do things from a starting date rande to and ending date range.

I did a hard reset while at work. gonna try one more thing, cuz now I got all duplicate contacts. 1 set from Sprit Migrate (with Pics) and 1 set from Gmail contacts (without pics) lol.

either way, no calender updates yet.

If you follow those instructions step by step, you'll get contact pictures and all that. When you export the file, make sure you select the proper type or whatever.

It worked for me (going from a Touch Pro 2 to an Evo) and that is exactly how I did it...

Re: Help with contacts from WinMo to Evo

So I did a Factory Reset again, then used Sprite Migrate again, and this time it imported all to my phone.

I'm happy now. Calender didn't work so well. So I exported from Outlook. Then I Imported to Google. Most things are there since I had to choose a date range for that.

Doesn't have my remender setting for some important bitthdays tho.

All in all, I'm content.

I deleted my google contacts as well. I Exported from phone book to SD card too. Worked like a charm.

So last things I will try is

1: importing contacts from card to google contacts just for back up purposes.
2: Google sync for calander only just to see if the alerts/reminders are placed.

Thanks all for your help
