It is definitely HTC's hardware/software implementation to make sure this doesn't happen

there is no issue. But a spare external battery charger is the way to solve this problem if it is really beatin you up inside.

also, if you rooted your phone, after wiping the battery stats, could potentially show you different behavior then before. I don't wipe my battery stats (just FYI)
Damn, awesome pic. Anyway I guess we are all having different experiences. With both my evos, and two other girl friends that have evos, this doesn't happen. Once its charged the light stays green indefinitely. Also when the phone is taken off the charger(after being on the charger fully charged for hours) it takes a while for the phone to lose that much juice even with lite to moderate use, again this is with me testing out 4 different evos so who knows.

What if we use a different charger? Sprint send me a motorola charger with the evo replacement, The original htc charger is 1 amp and takes 3 h to charge the battery now if I use the motorola that is 0.5 amps is going to take 6 h to do it, that means less time in the green led. ??? we can use the low amp to overnight charge and the htc for fast charge???

Re: Please HELP with battery 5% in 10 minutes

Also if you have a custom ROM you may find that some are better on battery life than others. I had one custom ROM and I was getting horrible battery life and my phone was getting really hot really fast. I switched to a different ROM and it was far better and the phone does not get hot, even after a 2hr phone conversation. The phone gets incredible talk time. This is funny that people rarely complain about the battery lasting for conversations....because we do so much else with the phones. Realistically, internet and games and all the other things we do with the phones drain the battery. I like the advice about the recharge before going with your day because I wasn't aware it stopped charging once it had a full charge. This will explain the drop w/just turning on the screen.
