GPS stopped working.

Just as I started my vacation my GPS stopped working. No idea why. I start it up and then open maps and my phone reboots. When I was roaming though it worked though. Any ideas? It worked great before the update.

Re: GPS stopped working.

Umm it sounds more like the app you are trying to run is fc'ing and then closes the gps... get gpstest from the market and see if it runs. If it does your issue is the navigation app if not then it is the gps.

Re: GPS stopped working.

Just tried that program and as soon as I turned on the GPS, the phone rebooted.

Re: GPS stopped working.

This is bad. Your final option before trying to get the phone exchanged is to perform a factory reset... hopefully that will put everything back to normal.

Re: GPS stopped working.

Many have the same problem. Mine is fine, but my wife's does this. As soon as Google Nav or Sprint Telenav try to turn on the GPS to navigate, instant reboot, every time.

I was going to wipe her device and reinstall everything to see if it fixes it, but will wait until Froyo is released (hopefully next month?) before.

Pull the battery out for 10sec and then reboot and it should work for now.

Re: GPS stopped working.

I've had the same problem for 2 weeks after a hard reset it would work fine for a few days up to a week. Brought phone to Sprint they kept it for about 45 mins and are now getting a new phone.

Re: GPS stopped working.

I had the same problem, I did a factory reset, installed updates, I rooted the phone to try with a new rom and nothing, so I went to sprint and I have a new phone but I am very worry now bc I had to replace the mogul with keyboard problems, two diamonds with screen problems and the dust problem with the hero, with no fix and now this, I like the evo but this is going to be my last HTC phone.

I am having the EXACT same issue. Other people and the 'net are too. I've had three HTC phones (mogul, touch pro and this) , I have to say they make crap. I have reasonable expectations and I'm not looking for perfection.. but this totally sucks. Basically I have a phone with NO gps. Back to Best Buy!

PS - I'm totally stock.. no rooting. Factory Reset did NOTHING. Any program that lights up the GPS reboots my phone.. every time.
