Please Help with Unrevoked 1/2. Lost root after Hardreset!

I rooted my phone with Unrevoked 1 and then Unrevoked 2. Recently I had a problem with my phone and hard reset it. I tried to reinstall unrevoked 1 to get my super user permissions back but it didn’t work. My question is how do I get the super user permissions back so I can WIFI tether. Can I just flash the stock Rom that shipped with the phone or do I need to find an updated/ rooted stock Rom? When I did the Unrevoked 2 hack i used his hacked OTA update. I never downloaded the sprint one. I believe that the unrevoked 2 hack gave me the ability to flash Roms. Please help with this if you can. I’m really not too familiar with android and need to get my root back. Thanks.

dumb question but...did you 're-run' the unrevoked1 apk file?

Yes I did and thats the problem. It won't work. Sucks! Thats why I was wondering if I can flash a stock Rom and start over or am I screwed?

hmm never heard of hard resetting breaking the ability to root via unrevoked1. most ppl are able to re-run unrevoked1, see the 'super users permissions icon' and then re-run the free wifi tether.

Perhaps the OTA "stuck" after the hard reset, and that is blocking unrevoked1

Its Unrevoked's patched OTA so i thought it would not lock the phone. Anyway if i can get into the HBOOT thing can i flash to a rooted Stock ROM? I just dont know Android OS that well yet. Had WM for years. Thanks.

i wish i could be of more help. i'm trying to learn this as i go as well. i'm thinking of not doing the original link i posted, and trying to do do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715915 (but starting from toast part2 as it mentions)

i'm starting to worry about unrevoked, as they have gone quite silent.

did you do the ota-patch version 1 or ota-patch version 2??

I did the OTA with the Radio upgrade because i didnt download the the sprint one.
