If you already did the latest update, root isn't even possible for you.

i still dont even know exactly know what root even means, i know how to work these phones as they come, i know absolutely nothing about modifying them like this

Watch one of the videos, and pause it at each step. It's literally that easy! If you're that shy about it, there is a 1, 2, 3 program out that will root it (not sure if it works if you installed the latest OTA though).

yeah ill look into that, i actually did the latest ota today, if i would have read all this first i prolly wouldn't have

There aren't any ROM's that don't have sense anyway. Sure there are some who don't use the launcher but thats about the best there is now unless you run the froyo port.

Hopefully in time there will be some real AOSP ROM's but till then sense is there to stay.
