Re: This just in from the Sprint Facebook page

I'm in STL too. I get 4g at work (near kirkwood), but it seems to go in and out. I can get 4g outside at home (Ballwin). I realize though that my wifi will be way better than 4g at home anyway, so not having it at home is no big deal. The issue is that you have to remember to turn it on and off all the time. 4g speeds aren't that great 1.5mbps to 3.0mbps averaging around 2mpbs. Better than 3g which I average at 1mpbs. Also, 4g seems to go in and out sometimes even when it shows a good signal.

I'll have to see how much coverage I get in SLC today, I could get it at my work two weeks ago but it died out before I got home. I'll see if it reaches WVC tonight

I was surprised and told her I figured it would be a few years and she said it doesn't take long and will happen very quickly.

I hope this is true.
"throughout the US"

problem is they only have to have X number of markets covered (as set by some standards board) to be able to call 4G a national network, and i'm sure that's all they're gunning for is numbers, that's why they activated Boise months ago, it takes like 3 towers to cover and its one more notch on the belt. so even when they get to "national" it won't necessarily be everywhere or even in places that are useful to a significant number of people

the shaft is for unclear deff of "premium data" that i would like to think is used for covering the overhead so that we dont come down the iphone syndrome of trying to suck a golf ball through a water hose. LOL

Thats what they suppose to say or they will lose customers and they will make their investors unhappy. Now I am sure they will try like hell but whats the likelyhood of all major markets getting 4g up and running reliably by the end of the year?

Re: This just in from the Sprint Facebook page

For what this is worth (probably not much), a Best Buy cell phone person told me that their Sprint rep had told them that the Minneapolis/St. Paul area would have 4G in late August or early September.

Nice, looks like the arnold / imperial area is covered... Might be able to take advantage of 4g when I come back home for a visit.

Re: This just in from the Sprint Facebook page

Question, does anyone know if updating the PRL to verizons means you won't find any 4G towers? I just did the hack and my 3g speeds are 10x faster (literally) but I want to make sure when I'm in a 4g area I'll be able to use it.
