Yeah but they just so happened to turn it off the same day the new PRL came in so I went through hell and back trying to go back to my old PRL, root, etc... bad timing = pain in the ass for me.

I was on the phone with sprint customer service yesterday to discuss some billing issues which they fixed for me and I complained about the extra 10.00 and no 4G in the New Orleans area and the rep told me they plan on having 4G throughout the US by the end of the year. I was surprised and told her I figured it would be a few years and she said it doesn't take long and will happen very quickly.

I hope this is true.

They have been doing the same thing in DC. I was able to use it since I got my Evo and was even able to connect a good 15 miles outside of DC. But when I tried connecting a few days ago I got a really strong connection to 4G but I wasn't able to get any data. I took it as a sign that they were probably testing and that hopefully it wouldn't be much longer until its official.

Sprint has made it very clear at the begging of the year they planned to cover every major market in 4g by the end of the year.
