Question Evo running Froyo. Well where is it?!

I'm sure we've all seen the video that came out before the launch of the Evo that showed someone having Froyo ported over to their Evo. Well...where he heck did it go!? I figured that if someone was able to do it THAT quick before the actual launch, SOMEONE would have it by then. Is anyone else as confused about this as I am?

EDIT: So I never thought of looking over at XDA forums, but apprently Froyo has been ported to the Evo for quite some time now. I haven't been over at XDA since the TP2 days. Thanks for the heads up guys!

No...just go over to XDA and look. Various version have been out for quite a while.

I'm running Froyo now. Check out xda in the "EVO 4G Android Development" thread.

Stable and fast. But you do loose use of cameras and 4g. I use ROM manager to flash back and forth, if I need cameras. Its blazing fast.

Likewise, 2.2 is stable and fast, just no camera at this point. Which, since the camera doesn't work anyway, allows the EU to try other kernals to overclcok and fix the fps issue, both of which also break the camera (for Notatech anyways). I keep a back up of my 2.1 ROM using ROM manager and just switch to it when I want a fully functioning build (i.e. camera). Its a quick switch to go back and forth, roughly 5 minutes all done from the SD.

You don't have to do wipes switching between 2.2 and 2.1?

Re: Evo running Froyo. Well where is it?!

I'm using EVOlutionV8 (froyo) AND I switch back to Calkulin's 1.1 (for camera work) I don't use the ROM manager...I acutally go into recovery and do a NAND restore. I do wipe D-cache...but I generally don't wipe the data. I've never had an issue. Doing the nand restore allows me to keep ALL settings within the ROM flashing back and forth.
