I think it's because I uninstalled some of the stock apps (after rooting I just deleted the stuff I found useless that I was tired of seeing run in the background)...the update must be trying to update one or more of those apps, not finding them, and failing. I bet if the phone was just rooted, and then left alone, that this would install.

I installed Unrevoked but it didn't work. All it does is says "Done" and nothing no root.

Ok...downloaded the manual install file...now what...when I clickon it...it opens and shows whats inside but does not install.

So after trying the update it status then I have a red question mark pop up then it just reboots back up to the home screen I'm running unrevoked with flipz room

I think a lot of you need to wait!! I'm reading post of my rooted this and my rooted that. If you are ROOTED DON'T UPDATE IT WILL BREAK ROOT. So ok you got lucky the updated wont install so quit trying until a developer gets you what you need. I am not rooted and don't really care to be. Just my 2 cents.

I ran wireless tether, it said NOT Rooted

FIX!!! ->
go to unrevoked.com on your evo, download the apk file, Install right over the old one. Open and click root. DONE!
wireless tether now works

what do you mean old one?
*** my bad... I think it downloaded as "unrevoked-1.apk" because I had "unrevoked.apk" already downloaded in the same folder. Re-download if you haven't already then run that file. It should re-root you!
