ROM MANAGER won't work for me!!!!

I have rooted and flashed my EVO with a custom rom. I downloaded Rom Manager from the market and did the initial flash. It will do all of that fine, but when I try to install from sd from Rom manager or even download a new Rom it will allow everything but then give me the picture of the phone w/the red triangle symbol....prompting me to connect to computer and run the recovery-windows.bat

I went back to stock...followed the full root instructions again (no issues with any of that), however whenever the screen says that my phone should automatically reboot into recovery, it doesn't it gives me the screen where I have to plug to computer.... any suggestions for where I may have gone wrong or what am I missing?

When you installed ROM Manager did you install the clockwork also?

Its at the top of the screen in ROM Manager.

yes and it does that successfully... don't know why it won't do everything else automatically...or why I keep getting the screen to plug into my computer.

After you install the rom manager you have to go open the program go into the menu settings choose to flash the rom manager recovery choose evo 4g let that run only takes a second should say it was successful. After that you should just have to choose your rom from within android it will ask if you want to do a backup and wipe say yes it should reboot and work. I know he has released several updates for this since it first was released for evo.

I really wish I could access XDA from work so I could link you the topic. In the EVO Dev forum there is a topic on making the clockwork recovery your permanent recovery. I think you may need to do that because he had it different since at first we could only do things when in recovery mode. Now that NAND is unlocked you can make it permanent but since everybody isnt fully unlocking I dont think he made that the default.

It should be fairly easy to find and trust me its worth it. I love ROM Manager and it makes everything much easier.

it says flash successful. i chose boot into recovery. it asks am i sure...i choose yes... the screen goes black...shows the htc evo 4g...then goes black and pop up the black screen with the phone and red triangle in middle of screen. the only way to get it off that is to plug into computer and run the recovery-window.bat

the rooted stock rom (hope i'm saying that correctly). i was running calkulin's but went back to see if that corrected the problem.

yeah i think arsmithsr is talking about making it permanent so he must have put that in there now. at the time i did it we had to do it manually.
