Re: Wireless N support unlocked on the HTC Evo
I'm trying to figure out why HTC didn't just release the phone with Wireless N enabled? Is there something we should know about with Wireless N on the Evo? Will it eat up battery way more than the 4G being enabled? I guess people that change it to wireless should probably post how their battery life reacts to it...thats the only way of knowing what it will do. I knew before the Evo was released that it had a Wireless Adapter, but was locked into Wireless G by default...I guess we will find out soon.

Did this and so far...? I guess it's working okay. My battery was almost dead so I can't really post about a battery drain. I'll see how goes it.

Re: Wireless N support unlocked on the HTC Evo
Am I the only one that doesn't really see the point in this? Assuming the Evo can actually handle the ~8MB/s throughput cap on the 100Mbit connection, what files are you going to be transferring that you need the bandwidth for, that you wouldn't just hook up to USB to do?
IMO it's just a battery waste... We don't have 100Mbit internet connections yet, so the only use for it would be file transfer, which would still be faster over USB. You SHOULD have to have root user permissions to modify the system files. I don't see any mention in the post though.

Re: Wireless N support unlocked on the HTC Evo
OK I've searched and searched. How do you install the zip as an update. Yea I'm a Android noob but been using Linux long enough to know that the instructions are always written with some "implied knowlege."
How da heck to I get this "EVO_Enable_Wireless_N.zip" to my damed phone!? BD
