Re: For People Complaining about evo's 30 fps 720p
I think the problem is with the cap of 30fps on everything --- including games, which makes them look a bit choppy.

I think movies are made in 24fps. American and Japanese television uses a format called National Television Standards Committee (NTSC). NTSC displays a total of 30 frames per {second;} but it does this in a sequence of 60 fields, each of which contains alternating lines of the picture. |

i understand the games are choppy but im talking about video recording properties, it's starting to get me a bit pissed that people keep saying " so what if it records in 720p it still sucks cause its only 30fps"

Re: For People Complaining about evo's 30 fps 720p
There's a huge thread about this over at xda-dev where me and a bunch of other devs are trying to fix this issue. No one's complaining about the 30fps 720p. The entire system is limited at 30fps, and there's also a touch input lag issue. Considering the Atmel 224 panel is capable of very fast input, it's disheartening. And considering we have a Snapdragon, 30fps is too.

It's not recording at 30 fps though it's at 24. No matter I've only seen people complain about 30fps on the ui not on recording. If we recorded at 60fps we'd be eating battery and memory card space at twice the speed.

Re: For People Complaining about evo's 30 fps 720p
Youre getting too wrapped up in numbers. I dont care what fps the camcorder records at, you can tell its very choppy and its nowhere near as smooth as any movie Ive ever watched, regardless if the fps match or not
putting up proof isnt going to help the cause either, if people cant replicate the good quality then it doesnt really matter. Still love this phone, i just admit its "HD" 720p video recording is very misleading Last edited by newone757; 06-21-2010 at 03:10 AM. |
