Re: [Mini Review] Opinions on GPS Programs for the Evo
All I can add is that Google Navigation does reroute. I have used WAZE and it got me in a heap of trouble. And Sprint Nav is just so slow at rerouting and even loading the route itself at start.
I prefer Google Nav, it has always gotten me to my destination and searching for points of interest is so expansive since you can go thru google maps, find the location you are looking for on a limited amount of info, and then switch that location directly into Google Nav. By far my favorite. |

Re: [Mini Review] Opinions on GPS Programs for the Evo
Coming from Windows Mobile, I have had plenty of experience with a variety of phone based GPS programs. Here is my list and recommendations....
Best Android (USA) Copilot 8 (on Android) due to TTS, fast rerouting, Good maps, constant updates, downloadable map upgrades, Web based error reporting Runners up tested Navigon (Android) No TTS, poor maps iGo (Android) no TTS, nice interface, slower than copilot Sygic (Android) no TTS Best overall (USA) iGuidance 4 (not available on Android) as it has accurate routing, TTS, new maps, plenty of POIs All of the online software i.e. Sprint Navigation, Google, Telenav etc are fine when signal strength is high, but concerning when traveling of the beaten path IMHO.

I actually looked at Co Pilot 8 in the market, and recall seeing comments that it didnt work. I'll give it another go.

Re: [Mini Review] Opinions on GPS Programs for the Evo
I'm really quite happy with my Google Maps GPS. It does what I need it to do when I need it to do so. It doesn't get me lost and shows me where the traffic is. That's all I need. Plus it's great for looking things up quickly and giving you what you need to know. I like it, but I'm a simplistic dude.

Re: [Mini Review] Opinions on GPS Programs for the Evo
CoPilot does work on the EVO. I generally prefer Google Navigation but CoPilot is definitely a good choice. I had purchased it when I had WinMo and I contacted them and was able to get them to switch my license over otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it again since I have Google Nav and Sprint Nav. It's a great option to have though in case I ever get in an area with bad or no signal since the maps are stored on your SD card.
