Re: Is there an easy way to hit SEND when texting in landscape?

When in a text, or an email, just hit the menu button, then send.

Two questions.
1) Does the htc messaging widget work with hancent?
2) Does handcent resize pictures when sending mms?

If yes to at least one of these (preferably both) I will definitely install it.

Not sure about the widget I'd assume it would still launch you into the stock sms app, but it will still update.

And yes to image resize for mms. It asks everytime just hit yes. There may be some advance controls for this but I've never needed them.

Download hancent its definitely >stock sms

Edit: Ok so interestingly it quasi-integrates with the Htc messaging widget. when you press the actual message it asks if you want handcent or stock sms; you can also set as default as usual. But when you click create new message or the open inbox button, it goes to stock sms. It does have all my sms tho in order as they should be.

So a Yes.5 overall

Edit: Edit: Looking thru MMS settings you can set the max mms size which is cool. Anyone know the max size sprint allows? its default at 1M but has a 1.2M option. I'd rather use that if Sprint allows it. Unless it would benincompatible with other carriers.... maybe i should just leave it alone lol

Re: Is there an easy way to hit SEND when texting in landscape?

Use this custom HTC keyboard. Has a ton of options including the ability to make the enter key send the sms in the stock messaging app, and the ability to disable the full-screen landscape (this give you a send button above the keyboard).

Re: Is there an easy way to hit SEND when texting in landscape?

Going to try handcent! I would like to have to have the option of resizing my mms but also keep them full size (unlike the stock messaging auto resize feature that makes pics 20k). Plus I love htc messaging widget but I will try handcent widget too.

Sorry for the thread hijack but I guess it's solved. Can't hit send unless you rotate to portrait, minimize the keyboard, hit menu send, or use new keyboard. Closed!

Re: Is there an easy way to hit SEND when texting in landscape?

Handcent is great, but I have one huge gripe about it. My gf and I obviously do a lot of things together, and we both own Android devices. This is great because only one of us needs to put an event in our calendar, then we can share it to the other person via SMS. In the stock SMS app, I can just click the event and add it to my calendar. Handcent's translates the vCard into a huge text message with code detail. Kinda crappy, and I can't click on it.

This doesn't work for me. As soon as you rotate to landscape mode the "Send" button disappears.
I can confirm that that by setting the enter key for the "shortcut key to send" setting works well, but I have to hit the enter key twice.

I don't see any advantage to this. It's still an extra button press. What benefit is there to pressing menu send rather than hitting the hide keyboard button and then send?
